Wunderlist HD - Manager of the tasks of synchronizing cloud App for iPad Looks Good

wunderlist HD is a very impressive looking new task manager app for the iPad. It has an iPhone and free apps for Mac and Windows desktop application synchronize with. It is the first app of tasks attempted to quite really give me a go as a possible replacement for things.

Things have been a favorite and most used app for me for years now on the iPhone, Mac, and the iPad. Unfortunately, I find his lack of synchronization on-line to a branch that its local sync WiFi becomes more reliable. It will be necessary for me to actually switch things but Wunderlist was I was giving him an essay mainly for the following reasons:

-Like just yesterday, it has a new version of shiny iPad.

-He has a beautiful, free desktop companion app (for Mac and Windows) - I've never been satisfied by a services tasks to perform online synchronization with other applications.

-Wunderlist the UI is not as simple and elegant like things, but is good enough on the Mac and the iPad look for my tastes.

-With function strong defined (see below for details) including the notifications push and email reminder for overdue tasks. One of the features missing big (or at least I have not found yet) repeating tasks. It is the one which is essential for me, and I hope it is soon added.

-It offers cloud sync. Hooray! And it works. It is not automatic, which should be, but it works well in my quick test today.

I installed Wunderlist on my iPad and MacBook Pro today, and I'll test it out for as long as it feels good. I am pleased to finally see a strong alternative to things. For now, each of the applications lack a feature I really - cloud sync things and repetitive tasks in Wunderlist. I have the impression that wunderlist can provide faster missing functionality - I'm keen to work with it and see how it is used.

Cool computer graphics - the power of sale of the iPad

GigaOM has a large computer graphics post up, based on the striking numbers extracted to a new report by Yudu Media. According to the new report... GigaOM

presents a compelling case that when it comes to marketing and the public, some devices (tablets or otherwise) compares with the iPad. The report gathers the conclusions of a number of different surveys and research outlets, paint a picture of a device tailored to sell content, products and services.

Two numbers that jump page for me are as follows:

– 91 percent of iPad owners at least downloaded an app - and 63% have downloaded paid app.

50% of iPad owners read newspapers (on the likely iPad) - and only 14% of the other owners of "E-Reader" do.

How to: Handle the newspapers and Magazine subscriptions on the iPad

The App Store now allows publishers to offer subscriptions to their magazines, newspapers and other content. Titles like everyday, she and Popular Science already offer subscriptions, and more publishers are follow soon.

In General, subscription plans should prove to be a viable option for users rather than purchasing individual issues of newspapers and magazines. iPad seizes Engadget editors Gadget of the year

I mentioned that the iPad has been designated as Gadget of the year 2010 by the readers of Engadget (more than 100,000 of them) a few days back. It ya a few days Engadget announced that it has also won Gadget of the year in their 2010 Engadget Awards Editors' Choice.

It's double fun. Here's the reasoning behind the editors' pick of the iPad and some praise for the Evo 4 G, which was the finalist:

The iPad has won one go - there is just no denying the influence the Tablet Apple had on the industry this year. But we believe that the Evo 4 G may be recalled that the first of a new breed of smartphones, and it is pretty amazing too.

iPad at work: replacement card paper for pilots

Wired reports today on iPad approval to be used by pilots to replace paper charts.

After three months of testing, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) approved a Charter airline, Executive Jet Management, use the iPad as an alternative approved paper charts.

It seems that it should be quite a popular change with the drivers of the company...

Since the early days of aviation, pilots relied on paper charts to help find their way. Even in an era of GPS and advanced avionics, see you again drivers shipped approximately 20 pounds or more charts. But these days are numbered because cards are giving way to iPads.

Jet branch will use iPads in tandem with a personalized card developed by an aviation Chart Maker application called Jeppesen.

To obtain FAA OK to use the iPad to replace paper charts, Jeppesen and Jet direction had obtained a rigorous approval process:

It included rapid decompression implementation testing of simulated altitude of 51,000 feet and ensure that the tablet will interfere with critical navigation or electronic equipment.

Executive Jet tested the iPad and Mobile TC in 10 aircraft piloted by 55 pilots during 250 flights.

As protection against the app or device hangs, Executive Jet is necessary to have a second electronic device approved in the cockpit, probably another iPad.

As noted by Wired, the really interesting thing about the decision of the FAA is the potential for wider adoption of the iPad among commercial airlines...

This permission applies to a single company but is an important step for all operators, including major airlines because it opens the door for them to embrace the iPad. Although any company wishing to follow lead of Executive Jet shall bear all also a rigorous examination of the FAA.

100 Goals of better football for iPad - candidate for the worst App ever

I'm a big football fan. Or should I say fan of football, which never contrec?ur uses the word soccer. If an iPad application called 100 best football goals caught my eye this week and with no real hesitation or thought, I installed it. Appeal by the ADB. A straight red card of the ADB appeal level.

This is one of the worst apps that I've ever seen to make the App Store. Keep reading for details on why this app is so terrible, or just mark on your black list of applications to avoid if you prefer...

Nothing at all. The app is really bad grotesquely.

-Content appears to be stripped directly from YouTube. Nothing has been added to improve it, and much has been done to make it much more serious.

-Four main "sections" of the application are home star rated and popular. Outside of the House, none of these same contain videos that are something to do with soccer or objectives; they are just the generic YouTube lists for each of these categories. So they have nothing whatsoever to do with that this app claims to be and have no purpose even being there. Homepage is a messy mix unordered videos of goals. Not categorized at all - by player, League or nation or anything that might be helpful. There is no additional text or info substance added to a video, so often that if you do not understand the language is spoken by commentators, you don't have a clue is to play or rating.

-Videos play in the implementation of YouTube, but with the application itself. The quality of their ridiculously is bad. It is almost impossible to understand anything going on their, they are so evil.

-Quite a few videos on the home / goals page jouerai even when you open.

If you're a fan of soccer / football and major objectives you would hate this app if you were stupid enough to buy it. If you're a normal human being with a pulse rate even. It is a shockingly bad application.

I am surprised that this application was received by the App Store approval process. He shouldn't have. It is at a price of $0.99, and should never be allowed in the store as a free application. I'm going to include its icon here just so that you can identify it in order to avoid that it:

I add a link iTunes for it because I don't want to pass on what would be a horrible own goal if you buy it.

iPad on Southland

Southland is one of my favourite at the moment TV programming. I love a good, gritty cop show and Southland embodies this kind. It is a show I really look forward every week and there aren't very many of those.

Usually during commercial breaks of the show I am staring an iPad screen. In the last episode of Tuesday I have suddenly stare a screen iPad screen Southland. Bonanza - two of my favorite on a large screen objects.

Lydia and Josie - two of the detectives featured on the show – showed iPad navigation to learn more about the past of a witness laminated they tried to get in shape to testify in a case of their.

I know that the iPad has made numerous appearances on television. Just I would like to remind that this is a big favorite of mine.

Lovely, Lovely iPad rumor: event unveiled iPad immediately available after next week

OK, this is hands-down my favorite iPad rumors this week / month / never.

AppleInsider has reason to believe that customers could fit the new tablet in their hands system soon after the events of the next Wednesday press.

According to people familiar with the matter, Apple prepares several of its operating segments functions during the second half of next week representative nothing less than a full-scale oriented products roll out (not just an advertisement). And with official invitations to the next Wednesday Press Conference clearly indicating a focus on iPad, these people feel at least a version of the device is refreshed will be in transit at point of sale retail at this briefing.

It should be noted that, while nothing is definitive, till Apple issued a statement, these same people have provided consistently detailed information regarding future products from Apple and the calendar related to these plans.

Apple Insider article will highlight if this does not prove accurate, it would almost certainly be just a model only WiFi is released immediately, such as G models / cell 3 require working with their partners from leading up to release carrier and would probably follow a few weeks later.

OH boy, time to break the piggy bank if it is just. I'm going to be right the door to get one. Although I'll probably sell it off and trade up to a 3 G model as soon as they are around.

The iPad 2 will be unveiled at special Apple media event Wednesday 2 March. 2 the iPad rumors were swirling round months now, and of course prior to the event announcement some of these rumors on the web are falling by the wayside, and some are gaining ground, looking more likely.

Here's a quick roundup of some of the most prominent rumour iPad 2:

More than one iPad 1.5

It seems to be a growing sense that the iPad 2 feel more like an iPad 1.5 with just the improvements. TIS speculation is often tied to the assumptions that we'll see iPad one another, more exciting, new release in the fall / winter of this year - an iPad Pro or iPad HD (with display full retina) which is not so much an update, but another option from the iPad line.

Faster, more powerful

Most recent summary of Apple introduced improvements expected speed and power:

Apple A5 chip based on a dual core Cortex-A9 processor. This chip is said to offer a better balance between power calculation and energy than existing models. Similarly, the new models should also packing ultrafast, dual core graphic SGX543 of the order of two to three times faster than the chip in the current iPad, a faster (1066mhz) memory clock, and one doubly onboard 512 MB RAM.

These mostly good but well, I would like to see that bumped up to 1 GB RAM so far as it is not put a big dent in battery life.

Improved display, but the same resolution

New technology "anti-glare" to provide a better experience in bright sunlight.

You have your iPad 2 Wish List together?

OK, so it's not like we wish for the iPad 2 will be magically come true when Apple Unveils it next week. But... now that we know the unveiling either shortly, it is the ideal time to start thinking all recent rumors, "leak" models and drawings case and so forth and lead to a wishlist for iPad back.

Here is a quick top of the head of list of some of the major changes now seemed widely anticipated for the iPad 2:

-Slightly thinner and flatter

-A little lighter

-Cameras - at least one, possibly two

-Processor (probably multi-core) upgraded

-Speaker enhanced, more

-A better view, although probably still on the same screen resolution

-Perhaps a mystery extra port.

And my quick thoughts / hope to those:

-I am all for a little thinner, more minor iPad. I am not terribly heavy current model but a lighter touch would be nice.

-Cameras seem to me to be an absolute lock now and we really knew that these came from iPad V 1 was launched.

-A CPU upgraded sounds good, as does an improved display.

-I never see any mention of RAM in any of these rumors have been flying round on iPad 2. I really want to see at least doubled (to 512 MB) and hopefully quadrupled to 1 GB.

-I am not too be restless on additional ports. I think that iOS future changes can longer for access to files, so that any additional port.

-Also hope that whatever changes are made do not a dent in the outstanding battery life.

iPad 2 announcement coming next week?

Apple is reportedly set to organize a media event to unveil its new generation iPad on Wednesday, March 2 in San Francisco, California.

What a week this has been for iPad rumors, and it's only Tuesday. Firstly, there is a series of reports (now reported inaccurate) than iPad release 2 could be delayed until in June. And now much more happy sounding rumors — that Apple will be holding an event announced for iPad 2 next Wednesday, March 2nd.

Quoting from multiple sources, Kara Swisher of all things D, revealed the date Tuesday. If a site has not been appointed, it is planned to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, where previous media Apple events took place.

If this rumour is accurate then invitations should come out for it very soon. Hope that see us in the coming days.

MLB.com to 11 Bat for iPad Out now

MLB.com at Bat for iPad 11 hit the App Store yesterday. Since the first version of MLB.com at bat hit iPhone, this has been a superb app for baseball fans. I've installed MLB.com at Bat 11 for iPad and spent some time with him, and it seems great, even though we are just part of spring training.

The app has boxscores and highlights for all games of spring training and a lot of news coming from all sides and the teams of the League. There are already lots of video in MLB and the individual team new sections as well.

I know that some people are unhappy with the app costs $14.99 for an iPad application and the version of the iPhone. This is a fair point, it would be better if they produce a universal; application but for the moment, I am pleased to run everything on my iPad.

Wireless file sharing for iPad coming in Mac OS X Lion

Details more I see on the next Mac OS X Lion - due for release this summer - more excited I am about it. Today, I noticed a very nice new feature will be included with the integrated Lion - Server wireless sharing of files for the iPad:

Lion Server offer iPad wireless file sharing. Enabling WebDAV in Lion Server allows iPad users to access, copy, and share documents on the server applications such as speeches, figures and Pages.

Good stuff. Of course, I'd like to see more file system included in this feature - but I use all three iWork on the iPad apps and this will make them a much better devil.

Oh, and I also like the idea of Chris everythingiCafe, closer control of the Lion of the Mission of the iPad. This could be quite interesting.

A little later than others, but another great win for the iPad. It was the name Gadget of the year 2010 Engadget Awards.

More than 100,000 readers of Engadget voted on prices, so this is another good for trophy cabinet iPad. He also collected Portable device of the year media and Tablet PCs for the year.

Here is a good thing on the new subscription from the App store policy

New political subscription from the App Store has generated much controversy and criticism since it was announced – with many publishers and some other feel reduction of 30% of Apple is too steep for this kind of purchase from the App Store, and that Apple is being greedy at the risk of losing the applications and developers.

It will be interesting to see how that plays, and if Apple need to adjust the policy in the future.

In the meantime, here is a screencap quick shows a very good thing about the new policy of subscriptions. When you subscribe to a publication, you are prompted if you allow Publisher access to your information. Just in case you can't read the screenshot here is the full text of the command prompt:

Share your information?

The developer would like your name, e-mail and postal code so that they can send you messages about related products in accordance with their privacy policy.

And, of course, you can allow or not. Good stuff. Publishers have been sharing info from the people with all sorts of junk for the years marketers without never offering an easy disengagement. This should help stop the same thing to our inboxes they did to our mailboxes for years.

The newspaper Gets a third minor update - still lousy Performance

Daily - the first newspaper iPad only app - had another minor update this weekend, to Version 1.0.3. Once you have applied the update, you get a good welcome message shortly when you first launch the app. It lets you know that your free time with the app has been expanded (mine va March 21) and says that developers have been listening to feedback from users-"you spoke, we listened. He also said that the devs hopes that users get "this version faster and more stable everyday life".

Unfortunately, it is really quite enjoy in terms of improvement of the app. To begin, as with all updates to the application for the moment, the update is not delivered as a typical iPad / iOS update. You are prompted to remove your current version of the app, and then reinstall the application as the new App Store. If off it would be just a little awkward - with three updates in a row requiring this, it's more stupid pain in the rear.

I also see much evidence of 'fast' so far. The application takes about 10 to 15 seconds to launch the same when there was a problem loading update. It is still too slow. When a new issue loading (which occurs several times per day), there is always at the time of loading 25 to 30 seconds.

Carousel used for navigation in the main application is always jerky awkward to use, and pages still load slowly sometimes.

The daily always also recalled not where you left off the coast of reading every time you go back in the application and exit. It is the same, even if you switch just the app and then again it via multitasking bar. This is easily the worst miss of the app in worries me. It is simply stupid, especially when combined with the General slowness of the app. This means that if you pass the app to do nothing at all, here is the user experience:

-You were an interesting article at Midway and you switch away to check your E-mail

-Enter you on the daily switch back quickly via the multitasking bar

-The app takes 10-15 seconds to load (or 25-30 if she updated content)

-You do land on the article that you have been reading, but just return to the point of departure in the carousel of default navigation

-You drag around the carousel to find the article you were reading - which is far from being fast, because the jerks carousel and awkwardly jump while you move through it

-You find the item and type over - and wait once again while it loads, sometimes quickly, sometimes not so

Sounds crappy right? And if you just switch the app once. Now just imagine what it is as if you switch away several times while reading the newspaper. It make your hair by annoying level. He feels dumb more than anything.

Comon daily developers - get less just this thing right base, please.

Oh, and the daily also loading pages in the background correctly fails immediately after one day - if often when you click an item in the table of contents, you'll be greeted with this error:
