Number 2 of the review of project for iPad now available

This line is fascinating for me because the off as promised a bunch of updates to regular, almost constant - and delivered nothing. I am keen to see how question 2 is in this regard. If updates thereof - as with the first question - are only comments of users and links out of blog, then it will be the last number that purchase.

The daily Murdoch"to hit the iPad next week?

Daily - the highly anticipated title of journal, Rupert Murdoch Newscop iPad - is set to launch next week, Wednesday January 19, according to a report in addition to the CNNMoney.com today.

It is the forthe expected daily launch date, publication only iPad News Corp. was feverishly point. The company did not even say boo, and a spokesman declined to comment when I asked him at the time of launch, coming via an insider from News Corp... Bloomberg said Verizon iPad comes

Just as I speculate yesterday, Bloomberg reported that a new model of iPad for Verizon CDMA network is underway.

Verizon Wireless will sell a version of iPad tablet computer Apple Inc. which can directly connect to its network by posing another challenge to AT & T Inc. as exclusive hold the carrier on the iPhone is nearing completion.

Verizon will get a chip built into the iPad for use on its network, Francis Shammo, Chief Financial Officer of Verizon Communications Inc., the parent of the wireless unit, said today in an interview in New York. Currently, IPad users are an additional device to connect to the Verizon network. Shammo has refused to say when change can occur.

I always imagine that this model of Verizon is much more likely to come with the launch of iPad 2 between now and April. free the iPhone from Verizon 4 roughly halfway iPhone refresh cycle is one thing, but I can't see the iPad model come along to the nearest mark 3–4 of Tablet refresh cycle.

Microsoft still Clueless on shelves, said Microsoft's Network

Last week was the big event these lots for compressed rival and iPad speak from many vendors. However, a company that we heard very little is Microsoft. Printer Pro for iPad update - now prints annotated PDFs

Printer Pro – excellent year printing app for the iPad — has had a recent update, to Version 1.1.

The big change in this update is the ability to print PDFs that have added highlights, text labels, signatures, and other annotations. This is the first iPad app to offer this ability.

Another major new feature is PDF Printing:

PDF printing is another great addition of Printer Pro 1.1. Now, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, any web page or TXT file can be saved as PDF. Only several taps required to transfer the document via "Open in" file sharing protocol that is built into iOS and convert it to PDF.

The update also adds integration with Apple's AirPrint to increase its range of supported printers.

This was already my favorite 3rd party printing app for the iPad, and this update makes it significantly better.

OUCH - Manuel de Blackberry has no Native email or calendar Apps

Manuel de BlackBerry overview the Gizmodo post:

The question is: which more BlackBerry users will want to buy? The base calendar and e-mail applications are completely attached to a BlackBerry. Without your BlackBerry, there is no native app email or calendar - fair access via web browser (admittedly though).

Which have to be a very bad call. I can never imagine the iPad requires that you have an iPhone in order to use the two basic applications and essential.

Weather HD received an update in the new year with faster loading time

Weather HD has another update this week to Version 1.5.5. Two notable changes in the new version are:

-Loading faster times for weather reports

-3 new videos

I installed the update this morning and I am happy to say that - after launch the application again, he liquidated and dating-I certainly noticed faster load times.

I am also pleased to see that the app developers are continuing in 2011, where they left off last year, with frequent and useful updates (more than a dozen in 2010).

Quick thoughts on the home button and multitasking gestures for iPad

You can have light post from Brandon here earlier on new multitasking gestures in the iOS 4.3 (beta) software where he mentioned that many people are predicting even as these could replace the home button.

Very quick thoughts on this are:

-Please no! I'm with Brandon this - nothing I want to see the button home go away.

-I am not keen on the fact that these gestures require four or five fingers. I do not think that those who are generally simpler get right. Two finger gestures would be much better.

-The parameter specified in 4.3 beta iOS demos can be activated and deactivated. So at least for the moment, who does not look as a replacement for the button home - just another method.

-If Apple seeks to broaden the range of actions supported, for the sake of pete can we finally get a gesture of popup a toggle of services, a la the wonderful jailbreak app SBSettings?

What all them do you think about these new gestures of multitasking? And the possible replacement of the home button?

iPad in education: NYT Says schools adopt the iPad

We have seen a number of stories of the iPad in educational institutions, from kindergartens to universities - in its debut year. This week, the New York Times has an article that focuses on how schools adopt the iPad as an educational tool.

An increasing number of schools across the country adopt the iPad as the last tool to teach Kafka in multimedia, history by "Jeopardy" - such as games and math with animation step by step in troubleshooting complex.

The article cites a number of examples of schools in New York and elsewhere to buy iPads for students and teachers. iPads is tested and adopted by a wide range of schools and also put to use for a wide range of purposes - for teachers to help teach their classes students use at school and at home for everything, since corresponding with teachers, play math games and turn into documents and assignments.

The question of whether buy iPads is the best way for schools to use their budgets is also triggered in the article.

Well that didn't take long. Auburn took college football national championship this season late-ish last night and this morning we have a new shiny iPad app for ESPN to commemorate the it. It is called ESPN presents: BCS fields. Here is his info from the App Store:

If you're a fan of Auburn iPad owners, I guess that is one-self. OH and also if you fit this description - congratulations - good WINS in a good title match.

Stealthily Peek - Dead Space from EA for iPhone and iPad

Our friends in the displayed iSource.com some screenshots of preview of a new title big game from EA that Vienna at the iPhone and iPad. Dead Space will be separate versions for each device and superb photos of preview for sure iPad version.

If you're not familiar with the game, I wasn't until very recently, here is some information of Intro, directly from the EA page for it:

EA dead Space is sure to please any action-adventure gamer, searching for a bloody battle against life-threatening foreigners.

Dead Space PC starts when a massive mining ship, the USG Ishimura, comes into contact with a mysterious alien artifacts and suddenly loses its communications with Earth. Engineer Isaac Clarke is sent to repair the Ishimura communications, but occasionally find a floating vessel which has become a complete bloodbath. The crew is mutilated and infected by an ancient alien scourge.

Clarke repair mission is transformed into one of survival, as he fights to save her and return artifact the planet at any price.

There is no date announced yet for the same output, but it seems that this could be another success for EA, once it touches the App Store.

Photogene for iPad updated still again, adds download to Exchange

Photogene for iPad - the effects of the excellent photo / image - manipulation app has been updated an another small, Version 2.10.

The update is mainly bug fixes and some minor improvements, but there are notable and impressive new: the ability to directly download Exchange edited photos. Dropbox is by far and far better synchronization of files online backup service I've ever throughout, so it is a new feature that really great to see added to Photogene for iPad.

The app also had the recent big update to version 2.0 - with lots of impressive new features added.

iPad 2 cases photos show many features rumor

Here's one of a series of photos of iPad cases 2 me sent by people from Y - case - Chinese accessories manufacturer. It shows a camera and a great speaker cutouts, like many of the iPad 2 rumors were mentioned.

Our contact Y - case tells us also that design is slimmer than the Gen1 iPad; yet again, like many rumors reported. I have no secret source approached for comment on precisely how these cases designs can be, but I don't know that at least some accessories suppliers have obtained this kind of thing right with Apple products in the past.

iPad Rotation Lock is in the iOS 4.3 Beta software

IPad Rotation Lock is back to the last beta iOS.

As the screenshot above - my brother Brandon - shows, the beta of iOS current 4.3 (exit only developers registered for the moment) it in a settings option to use the switch material at the top right of the iPad as a lock rotation or a mute button.

Be like many of you will be recalled, when the iPad was launched equipment top button right served a rotation - lock but the recent big iOS 4.2 update changed this switch mute and the displacement of the keylock function of rotation on the extreme left of the bar of multitasking. Many users including me, hated this change.

This is very good news in 4.3 beta. Have the option to set the button of material that you want, it is a very welcome change. I know that mine will be defined as Brandon is above.

The British Library now has an iPad App

British Library treasures HD is the new British Library iPad app. Treasures of Word in the title of the app is apt, as the British Library houses literally millions of documents that represent significant portions of the history of the world. He holds more than 150 million items in total.

We hold 14 million books, journal titles and journal 920,000, 58 million patents, 3 million sound recordings, and so much more...

The application includes more than 100 highlights from our collections, including focusing on music and scientific - literary, historical documents alongside illuminated manuscripts and sacred texts. Each is presented with images high resolution, which allows the Viewer to zoom in and explore in extraordinary detail.

What does the iPhone to Verizon for the iPad?

Today Verizon and Apple finally confirmed the near-mythical Verizon iPhone. The Verizon iPhone 4 will be released next month and is featured on the home page of Apple.com/trailers today.

So what, if anything, does this mean for the iPad? Debate it means we'll see 3 G models of the iPad 2 for the Verizon network - and more choice in terms of cellular network and data plan pricing for those who want an always-connected iPad.

Of course Verizon are already selling the current generation iPad WiFi models in their stores and online, and the signs look good for the Apple-Verizon relationship to result in more headline products this year and beyond.

Here's a couple of the quotes from the Verizon iPhone announcement press event earlier today:

Our relationship with Apple has developed over the last two years. In 2008 we started talking about bringing the iPhone to a CDMA network. "we spent a year testing."...

We've been working with Verizon for awhile… this is just the beginning of a relationship between Apple and Verizon. I'm very optimistic about what the future holds.

If we do see an iPad 2 3 G model for Verizon, that should help give it an even bigger US market share. I'd certainly give it a good look if data plan costs are competitive and as flexible as AT & s 't. With my iPhone, I'm too fond of the family plan and rollover minutes we have with AT & T (and our voice and data service has mostly been quite good). On the iPad, for just pure cellular data coverage when needed, it's a more painless and attractive option.

Just in case you have not already seen this on 37 websites this weekend, Kevin Rose has some (cough, cough) because of predictions ' about the iPad 2:

iOS 4.3 Beta released to developers

4.3 beta iOS and iOS 4.3 SDK Beta are now available for iOS developer program members. Begin to add new features in this beta version to your applications, including the ability to stream video to Apple TV airtime, Sai full screen banner and Streaming HTTP Live statistics.

It is an email sent to developers iOS earlier Apple today. So I hope that we will see much more iPad apps, offering airtime video support in the coming months.

A few things to keep in mind, if you are looking to try this last beta:

-Probably quite unnecessary, unless you are a developer and want to test the video support of airtime.

-Noted by Apple as pre-release software that is only for development purposes, and this is the first beta of 4.3.

-If it is not enough reason to be very careful, you should also know that once you install this beta 4.3 you cannot restore to a previous version of iOS. You can only update a newer beta exit or 4.3 - final software which can be quite a ways being released.

So, I've got the beta installed on my iPad, and honestly I did it just to have my lock screen switch back… but I have to say the new gestures (demo'd here by @razorianfly) are pretty cool. They could in theory replace the home button as is being rumored around the various news sites, but I really hope not. It just doesn't feel right.

iPad rival, winning the Tablet race before departure apparently

It is the year of the Tablet market is designed to heat, with lots of rivals to the iPad on the market in the coming months. For now, almost a year after the iPad was released, it is only a real competitor to the iPad mention, the tab of the Samsung Galaxy.

Despite the paucity of real competitors, there is no shortage of big talk of some vendors and potential rivals tablets fans. In fact, some of them feel same they somehow lead in this race already, without even having a product on the market. Co - CEO of BlackBerry said the Blackberry manual is "way ahead" and "setting the standard", despite the fact that it is still has not yet been published.

Microsoft said that they will "make a difference" in space compressed - Windows 7 no less – since January 2010. And yet there is not a single tablet based on Windows, out - or at least not those who gained attention at all.

I hear these days also via Twitter that Android 3.0 will redefine the only tablet computer should be. My idea is that it is difficult for Android 3.0 to redefine anything while it remains, yes you guess, unreported.

I do not doubt that the iPad will get a significant competition this year. Engadget checks iPad 2 cases to the these

Engadget caught Dexim people at the CES - and found showing off the coast of new cases iPad interesting. A case that correspond to a current - iPad because he said be a case for the iPad coming 2.

Cool things: Mashup Hey soul sister and the new soul with iPhone and iPad

Great stuff. Hey soul sister is so happy song, a huge favorite in our House. So cool mashup of Ellen was appreciated as well. She apparently was entirely with an iPad and the iPhone (from the application of iMovie). I especially like the appearance by applying Bebot.

In the studio, I would use my iPad to display the lyrics of the songs we were recording. It would be a perfect fit. Facepad - Facebook App for iPad seems promising

Facepad - Facebook for iPad (just call the Facepad here, OK?), as you may just have guessed from the name, is a new Facebook application for the iPad. And it is quite promising and good looking one at that.

He certainly has a brighter and more attractive user interface that the other well-known Facebook app for the iPad friendly. I tried it out a bit this morning and I find very pleasant to use.

It is obviously a great opening from now Facebook applications for the iPad, since there is still no official Facebook application themselves. I mostly used their iPhone size X 2 application on my iPad - but after just a little time with Facepad, I think I already prefer it.

The app a little borrowed official Twitter application interface style for iPad - with popover main components for Facebook sections - profile, Live Feed, friends, Inbox and so on — which can be slipped away when you're through with with a particular item. It works well and comfortable to use.

It's much like a 1.0 version - which is the case. There are places where it is laminated in its reply, and I can't get to let me reply to a message from the Inbox at all-it does not recognize a faucet in the response text field at all.

I'm not a heavy user of Facebook, therefore I am probably not the opinion of many remarkable points on the application - but I find myself using Facebook more just lately, and it will now be my best way to interact with it on the iPad. If I have more to say soon, once I get to know the best app.

Update: I meant earlier mention that another big application limitation now is that it doesn't work in landscape mode. Also, as I use a little more regularly now, I see a lot buggy popovers - performance especially when you try to add a comment to a person.

IPad Photogene arrived in a Big - lots of Cool New Features update

IPad Photogene - which was already one of the better iPad applications effects photo / image - handling has been a great recent update for version 2.00. I sentence round to catch up with all my recent updates and took a few minutes to play around. I must say that it is really great.

iPad at work: service from the list of wine at a Steakhouse in Chicago

The iPad continues to prove its versatility in fitting carefully in a wide range of workplaces. This week there are stories to a restaurant in Chicago - Chicago Cut Steakhouse - which is given to its guests to navigate the map of wines with iPads.

The restaurant is from 40 iPads to help customers choose from a selection of wine 800. It looks like the iPad works well for Chicago Cut Steakhouse as well:

Associate Director General David Flom said the Chicago wine increased iPad sales because guests keep the iPad at the table and are interested to try different wines.

Site Stuff: Change in the system of comments

As some of you may already have noticed, the system of comments here on this site has changed, as of late last night. Prior to last night that we use a 3rd party, called Intense debate system.

Thanks to a same kind and honest player, I was made at night last aware of a major vulnerability with Intense debate. I won't go into details, but drive had accidentally discovered a big problem, and he had screenshots and further proof concrete question, he found. As soon as I checked what was said in the e-mail and thanked the gent who sent it to me, I disabled and deleted Intense debate entirely from the site.

We used an Intense debate because it offered some nice features not available to the system of standard WordPress - comment as the opportunity for commentators login with OpenID or Facebook credentials. Unfortunately, the system has always had some issues - and whenever I sought help on one of them I was facing epically, unique, horribly bad support. I could write a post of five pages on just extraordinarily terrible how their support has always, but it is not worth.

So... it is quite likely you see here use Intense debate once again. I returned to just WordPress comments system standard for the moment. I tried to make things a little less painful by requiring is not one any registration or login to this site - all you need to do to publish a comment is enter a name and an email address.

I will begin soon for plug-in do comments still more easy. I am sorry to change suddenly and inconvenient-, but given the nature of the discovered security vulnerabilities and the appalling lack of support offered by Intense debate, I had really no choice.

What new tablet will emerge as the best candidate for Crown this year the iPad?

The iPad had almost compressed market all to itself in its debut year. Several potential competitors were sent quickly back to the drawing board, or simply dropped purely and simply once the iPad launched and took off. The tab of the Samsung Galaxy was the a rival worthy indeed market last year - and it seems to have mostly good reviews.

This year seems set to see things get a lot interesting ore in the Tablet space. Blackberry - Tablet called the manual - is set to launch in the first quarter of this year and CEO of RIM already considers it "way ahead" and setting the bar for tablets. HP should bring out a WebOS tablet based and we should see a scan of Android-based tablets on the market - even if for the moment they will all be running a version of the operating system as Google themselves is not designed for tablets. Honeycomb - their software "Tablet-ready" isn't due out towards the middle of the year. Apparently, we may see between 40 and 80 touchscreen tablets to an appearance (of any sort) to big CES event this week.

It will be fascinating to see what new tablets will be pack enough punch to emerge as genuine contenders to the iPad. The iPad has a huge head start and we'll probably see iPad 2 come out alongside or shortly after a good number of potential primary rivals.

How to lock the screen on the iPad orientation

For many users, the iPad responds to its description as "intimate" device - how often used when available around on a couch and the like. There are a number of situations – not least when games - when you do not want the iPad continue its normal directions screen flipping hand that shift you it around. When you want it just remain fixed in landscape or portrait.

Fortunately, it is easy to put on the iPad. Here's how:

-Double-click the home button to raise the iPad multitasking bar. This will show you all your recently used applications.

Here is the latest project Magazine for iPad, as "revolutionary" Virgin Publishing of Richard Branson only iPad:

Yup, it is a white space above. As in, there is still no update to the project. Here's what the project originally promised to offer:

The project is a monthly magazine which will change every day, every hour - minute by minute sometimes - give to the world of the early adopters audience a month of entertainment for less that the price of a decent Cup of coffee.

Here is what it has actually delivered so far: one question. Not a terrible one by any means, but not a burned worldwide magazine iPad either. OH and not a single content update in more than a month. In fact, not even a second issue now that more than a month has elapsed since the issue of the debut hit the App Store.

And people ask why the iPad magazines are struggling in terms of sales.

Stats - many of you visit on your site iPads

Here's a little happier news report site. Whenever I look at the site statistics, I see that an increasing percentage of readers are visiting via their iPads. This is a trend that I am very happy to see that we are a site focused on the iPad.

As you can see in the screencap above, iPad over the past months is the number one operating system used by visitors to the site a little more than 37%.

In the last week, the trend is even more remarkable – with 41% of visitors came via the iPad.

Fortunately, our global stats are also all curve upward - more visitors, more pageviews and so forth.

Thanks to all of you - via iPads, Windows PC, BlackBerry, or any type of device – we check out. Hope you will return often.

Stealthily Peek - Agile Messenger for iPad soon

Agile Messenger my application preferred IM (Instant Messaging) on the iPhone for a long time. I am therefore very pleased to say that Agile Messenger for iPad should be hitting the App Store very soon. In fact, it has already been submitted for approval to Apple.

I used the final pre-release build for some time now, and it looks and works very well. A new addition to big in the iPad version is support of Facebook. You can see your Facebook notifications, update your status and chat with Facebook friends with in the application.

Exoskeleton - interesting iPad case Kickstarter project

eXosheleton is the name of concept iPad case that is currently under a Kickstarter project in search of funding. This is a case which provides a way to hold the iPad a hand with ease (according to its creator anyway) and is also usable as a stand.

I saw a few iPad accessories that help keep the iPad a hand, and it appears as it would stand up against people. I don't know if exoskeletal would be a great success that it gets on the market, but I certainly think that there are some worst accessories for the iPad to be sold.

Here is more information and background on the project, directly from Ken Hellewell, the man behind the project Kickstarter:

The exoskeleton (patent pending) keeps elegant profile the iPad while adding a handful of super finger secure on the back that makes unique discount a breeze. Ever feel like you need both hands to carry your iPad around in the room.

The exoskeleton is the result of many drawings, models and prototypes in an effort to find the optimal shape for the single hand operation. Unlike other cases dealing with this issue, we do not add protrusions intrusive or bulky covers. They are not necessary.

Protection

Exoskeletal protects all four corners, screen and back. No part of the iPad ever comes into contact with the table. (or the floor!)

Stability

The four runners raised that when they are placed on the back, the iPad will not rock or wobble when typing or touch screen to navigate. They also distribute impact forces at the highest part of the iPad; the corners.

Work and display

Four double skates as connection points for the legs included. We are using standard threads and shoulder screws that opens the door to all kinds of ideas of editing you have - including legs longer and shorter in your local store of hardware, handles or even hanging on a wall! Legs allow the iPad set upright for display in landscape mode or portrait. They also raise the tip when typing inclined or surface navigation.

These Tablet Specs look like good news for iPad Fans 2

Just as expected, there are already a number of new Tablet announced this week at the large demonstration devices these in Las Vegas. The Motorola Xoom, above, is one of the most remarkable I've seen mentioned so far.

It is clear that the iPad will have competition much more this year, especially since he had almost none in 2010.? One thing that I find very encouraging when I read about all these new rivals of the Tablet is that many of them are enjoying processors dual core and cameras and a hell lot more RAM than the V1 iPad.

While hardware specifications are difficult to the most important factor in the choice of the iOS on rival devices, I do not see Apple let the iPad 2 will come out with specs that potential rival trail. So I would say a dual-core processor, RAM, and i/o camera for the iPad-reinforced 2 spent good Paris at close of sour things.
