We have seen a number of stories of the iPad in educational institutions, from kindergartens to universities - in its debut year. This week, the New York Times has an article that focuses on how schools adopt the iPad as an educational tool.
An increasing number of schools across the country adopt the iPad as the last tool to teach Kafka in multimedia, history by "Jeopardy" - such as games and math with animation step by step in troubleshooting complex.
The article cites a number of examples of schools in New York and elsewhere to buy iPads for students and teachers. iPads is tested and adopted by a wide range of schools and also put to use for a wide range of purposes - for teachers to help teach their classes students use at school and at home for everything, since corresponding with teachers, play math games and turn into documents and assignments.
The question of whether buy iPads is the best way for schools to use their budgets is also triggered in the article.
"There is very little evidence that children learn more, faster or using these machines, a declared Larry Cuban, Professor Emeritus of education at Stanford University, who believes that the money would be better spent to recruit, train and retain teachers more." "" IPads are wonderful tools to involve children, but then the novelty is offshore and you get hardened issues of teaching and learning. ?
One of the main responses to concerns expenditure seems to be that schools will save substantial amounts on costs of printing and textbooks.
