This week Google Docs added a little love for the iPad. When you work with Google Docs in the Safari browser on the iPad, you can now switch to Desktop - mode that offers a number of style and formatting options (things like change the font, the alignment of paragraphs and so on) that you see in the standard mobile mode.
Desktop also allows to insert formulas in a worksheet, document via the display of the worksheet.
I just tried on these new features very quickly on my iPad - I tend to work with Google Docs via the excellent Office2 HD application most of the time. If you use the new Desktop mode much, let us know what you think of it in the comments.
